Plastic mold making process

Publish Time: 2022-12-07
With the rapid development of the plastics industry and the continuous improvement of the strength and precision of general-purpose and engineering plastics, the application scope of plastic products is also expanding, such as: household appliances, instrumentation, construction equipment, automobile industry, daily hardware, etc. In many fields, the proportion of plastic products is increasing rapidly. Bringing different requirements to the plastic mold processing technology, a good job

The technical preparation of documents can affect the production cost and product quality. The following suggestions are made on the compilation of plastic mold processing technology: the basic principles of compilation of plastic mold technology. According to its own manpower and material resources and the requirements of data or drawings provided by customers, prepare feasible process documents as soon as possible, and manufacture high-quality products with usability. In the framework constructed by this basic principle, fast, good and economical are the core contents, which run through the compilation.

"Fast": It requires the compilation of the shortest time-consuming process documents in the shortest time. Pay attention to the following four points in the work:

1. The craftsman should be able to be familiar with the machine tool equipment and technical level of the unit. It is best to have operated each machine tool and have a good understanding of the processing to meet the requirements of the complexity and particularity of the mold parts, so as to obtain a copies of drawings, the best machining process can be quickly determined, and the speed is increased.

2. Determine a reasonable minimum machining allowance. In the upper and lower processes, between the rough and fine processes, the necessary machining allowance is reserved to reduce the processing time of each process.

3. Since most of the mold parts are single pieces, small batches, and process cards cannot be as detailed and detailed as batch products, but strive to understand at a glance, without any omissions, the key processes should be clearly explained and the processing precautions should be clearly written, and the operation instructions should be written. Reduce operator adaptation time and reduce machining errors.

4. The fixtures, measuring tools and auxiliary tools needed in the processing process should be designed in advance and prepared in advance.

"Good": It requires the craftsman to be able to write the most reasonable and best crafting documents to prevent and deal with problems in the processing process. It is also one of the criteria to measure whether a craftsman is excellent. The following points should be mainly noted:

1. Reasonable arrangement of heat treatment process. One of the characteristics of mold products is the mechanical properties of materials. The heat treatment requirements are very strict. Key parts such as convex and concave molds and fixed plates should be annealed at the beginning to improve the processing performance. After quenching, aging should be carried out to eliminate stress and deformation.

2. Strictly distinguish between rough and fine processing. In general, the division of rough and fine processes is determined by the heat treatment process, and the processing after the final heat treatment is mostly finishing. The allowance should be arranged in the roughing stage as far as possible to reduce the loss of the tool and the loss of the electrode and wire electrode using electrical machining.

3, to use pretreatment process measures. For some parts such as concave dies and punch fixing plates with a large amount of material removed in the middle, a unilateral allowance of about 0.5 mm should be used before finishing, and a rough cavity should be machined first, then quenched and aged, and then finished. , in order to eliminate the stress and deformation within the processing. For some thin-walled parts, such as unloading sleeves, a reinforced process table should be pre-machined to prevent deformation of the machining clamping.

4. Appropriately set aside processing benchmarks. In production, the problem that the machining datum cannot be coincident with the design datum is often encountered. At this time, it is necessary to pre-process a process datum to facilitate the processing of each process. For high-precision products such as progressive dies, dimensional accuracy conversion is required.
